A renowned Broadway producer/director, Julian Marsh, is tasked with creating a new musical revue, backed by Abner Dillon to showcase his girlfriend, Dorothy Brock, a talented songstress. Despite being ill, Marsh is a demanding perfectionist who drives the cast to excel. When Brock suffers an injury, Peggy Sawyer, a chorus girl, gets her chance to shine as the new star, and finds love along the way.
