Tom Rosner, a successful lawyer, is the target of his mother's matchmaking efforts, but his attempts at dating are unsuccessful until he meets Jane Cronin, a nurse who works with his mother's daughter. Despite initial impressions, Jane is not interested in Tom, but his mother's interference leads to a second date that changes Jane's mind.
