A young boy's vivid imagination brings a theatrical performance to life. In ancient Athens, a power struggle unfolds as Hermia defies her father's wishes, the Duke supports her father, and the Duchess sympathizes with Hermia. Meanwhile, Demetrius, chosen by Hermia's father, pursues her, but his affections are actually directed towards Helena. When Hermia and her lover meet in the woods, Helena reveals Demetrius' feelings, hoping to win him over.
