Alaska Highway background

Alaska Highway

In a bold move, Woody Ormsby, the elder son, chooses to trade in his family's ambitious construction project, the Alaska Highway, for a chance to make a difference on the front lines.

The Alaska Highway project begins as Pop Ormsby wins the contract from the Army Engineer Corps, connecting Alaska to Canada. Woody Ormsby, Pop's elder son, chooses to fight with bullets rather than bulldozers and is assigned by the Army to work on the project. Meanwhile, Woody and his younger brother Steve compete for the affection of Ann Caswell, the daughter of Road Engineer Blair Caswell.
