In a quiet rural town, two police officers, Zoe and Patrick, start their shift as usual, but quickly realize that something is amiss. As they try to make sense of the bizarre occurrences, the residents around them begin to act strangely and a mass hysteria sets in. As the officers dig deeper, they discover that they are under attack from extraterrestrial machines, which have cut off the town from the outside world. With the help of some of the residents, Zoe and Patrick must band together to unravel the mystery and fight for their community's survival, as well as the fate of the world.
