Jim McLain and Mal Baxter, partnered HUAC investigators, are tasked with uncovering communist activity in Honolulu. They team up with Chief Dan Liu and former communist Max Veneby to find Willie Namaka, a potential witness who may be able to name names. However, they soon learn that the other side is also searching for Namaka to eliminate him as a liability. Meanwhile, Jim falls for Nancy Vallon, a war widow and assistant to Dr. Gelster, Namaka's doctor, who is hiding a dark secret. As Jim and Nancy work together, they discover the true danger surrounding Namaka and the communist plot.
