A young boy from New Zealand's east coast is thrilled to reconnect with his estranged father, a man with a troubled past, who has returned to the area in pursuit of a hidden stash of cash.
Eleven-year-old Boy lives on a farm with his brother Rocky, their grandmother, and a goat. When their father Alamein suddenly appears after a week's absence, Boy is disappointed to find that his imagination of a heroic father was far from reality.
