A rebellious young man is sent away by his father to escape his reckless lifestyle, but he brings along his friend Ossie, who shares the same vices. They embark on a journey to California, with Jack stopping to indulge in his desires along the way. Along their path, they meet a new acquaintance, Poncho, who often finds himself on the verge of a fight due to Ossie's antics. Upon arriving in Pasadena, they meet Connie and Penny, as well as Aunt Polly, and Jack proposes to Connie, only for his jilted fiancée Mabel from New York to suddenly appear.
