The film weaves together the tales of several individuals in a small town, all connected by their use of CB radio. At the center is Paul LeMat, a busy CB coordinator with little time for anything else. Meanwhile, his father, Roberts Blossom, is a gruff but kind old man who only reveals his softer side over the radio. Charles Napier, a trucker, is hospitalized after a crash, leading to a series of comedic mishaps.
