A young man, Joe Hufford, is wrongly convicted of manslaughter and sent to prison after a self-defense killing in a nightclub brawl. Years later, the district attorney who prosecuted him becomes the warden of the prison and takes Joe under his wing, appointing him a Trustee and chauffeur. As Joe becomes embroiled in a prison escape plot, he also falls for the warden's daughter, Kay.
