Two con-men, McAllister and Hamilton, travel the country selling worthless stock to unsuspecting small town residents, including a group of war veterans in Chesterville. They target the local war-veteran's home, selling shares in a worthless oil-field to the naive veterans. However, McAllister's love for the hotel owner, Louise Heath, inspires him to reform and abandon his shady business. But before he can convince his partner to do the same, the townspeople discover their scheme and send them to jail.
