A band of outlaws, led by Grif, has been robbing and murdering settlers bound for the Chandler ranch. The postmaster, Harvey Grimes, is secretly working with the outlaws and informs them about upcoming settlers by opening their mail. When a settler is killed, Rocky Lane, an insurance agent, investigates and finds a piece of a watch fob that links one of the outlaws to the crime.
