Valére, a young woman, is deeply connected to her French grandmother Marie Tasso. After discussing sex with Val, Marie encourages her to document her life experiences by writing a diary. Meanwhile, she loses her job due to downsizing and learns that Marie has had a heart attack. Before Marie's passing, Val visits her one last time.
