In 1989, acclaimed author Flanders embarks on a journey to Berlin, where she becomes overwhelmed by despair as she mourns the collapse of the communist systems she once admired.

A disillusioned author, Flanders, visits Berlin in 1989, struggling to cope with the collapse of communism, which she had once admired. As she searches for someone who shares her views, she finds herself increasingly isolated and decides to return to Munich, encountering a series of individuals who seem to offer little hope.
