A mother, Cissie Colpitts, fed up with her husband's infidelity, kills him with the help of a sympathetic coroner. Her daughter and niece, also named Cissie, face similar relationship woes and follow their mother's example. Meanwhile, the coroner becomes entangled in the trio's murders, all while a countdown from one to 100 unfolds visually and audibly throughout the film.
