Cowhands Ross Taylor and Chito Rafferty rescue a road-construction engineer and his wife from the clutches of a ruthless toll road operator and his henchmen. As they try to protect the engineer and his work, they uncover a web of deceit and betrayal, including a scheme to destroy the engineer's surveying instruments and a false accusation of an affair.
