A former rancher seeks revenge against the cattleman responsible for a devastating stampede that killed his brother, taking up his old role to confront the culprit in the rural Midwest.

Bill Elliott returns to the Fargo country to avenge his brother's death, killed in a stampede started by ruthless cattleman Austin and his henchmen. He finds an ally in law-abiding cattleman MacKenzie and his daughter Kathy, and together they devise a plan to protect the land by installing barbed wire. Despite the cattleman's attempts to discredit the wire, Bill and his makeshift team successfully produce it, and the cattleman resort to violent tactics, including kidnapping Bill and displaying him in a humiliating manner. The situation escalates into an open war between the two factions.
