In this drama, Laura Nash, a former convict, forms an unlikely bond with Polakai, a waiter and wrestler, who becomes her husband and eventually the wrestling champion of Germany. However, her feelings for her old partner in crime, Nick, never fully subside. She gets Nick out of jail, claiming she's pregnant, and he leaves for America.
