In a forest community, a toad detective named Gordon investigates a nut theft reported by a squirrel named Valdemar. The investigation leads to a mouse named Paddy, who confesses to taking a nut to satisfy his hunger. Despite being a suspect, Paddy is spared due to forest law and even becomes a rookie deputy. Meanwhile, a prime suspect emerges in the form of a fox, but the investigation takes an unexpected turn. As the case unfolds, Gordon must put aside his retirement plans to team up with Paddy to solve the mystery of missing children.
