Casey, a college student who worked his way through school by taking pictures, finds it difficult to break into the newspaper industry. He becomes a freelancer and takes a compromising photo of Rodney Addison, the son of a powerful newspaper owner, and submits it to the Globe-Press. The paper hires him to keep the photo from being published, and he becomes an assistant to a staff photographer, Wade.
