In a rundown Los Angeles tenement building and nightclub, a cartoon dog named Hollywood Dog faces a crisis when his manager cancels his act. To avoid eviction, Hollywood Dog recruits a new musician and passes him off as his own act, without the newcomer's knowledge. Chaos ensues until the two finally reveal the truth and form an understanding. But Hollywood Dog's troubles persist, as his new friend's singing voice is eerily reminiscent of a seal.
