A gifted saxophonist's life is transformed after winning a coveted talent competition, leading to a lucrative film deal and a glamorous Hollywood debut alongside a celebrated star at a prestigious movie premiere.

Ronny Bowers, a talented saxophonist, wins a talent contest and a film contract. He's supposed to accompany star Mona Marshall to a movie premiere, but she declines, so the studio uses a double, Virginia. Mona discovers the switch and demands Ronny's firing. He finds work as a singing waiter and is spotted by a director, who wants him to provide a voice for a leading actor in a musical.
