A man torn between his Native American and Anglo heritage struggles to cope with his identity. After being scarred by his experiences in 1960s Southeast Asia, Johnny returns home, forever changed. Arrested and sentenced to 30 days for public urination, he's ridiculed by locals and descends into madness without medication. As his grip on reality falters, he breaks free and hides in the forest, where he's plagued by conflicting visions. A young girl discovers him and takes him to a secluded cabin, where he finds temporary solace, but his troubles are far from over.
