As a community recovers from a catastrophic volcanic eruption, a woodcarver and his three daughters must confront the difficulties of rebuilding their lives in a small Philippine town, all while exploring the complexities of their family bonds.

A story set in Guagua, Pampanga, a decade after the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo, follows the lives of a woodcarver and his three daughters as they navigate relationships and traditions over seven summers. The daughters face their own struggles, including a daughter's escape from an arranged marriage, another's illicit affair, and a third's unrequited love. As the family's dynamics change, they must come to terms with their own identities and find their place in the world.
