Max, a young boy, navigates the dangers of his neighborhood when he outsmarts a gang of toughs at school. When the gang discovers the key he gave them is worthless, they chase him through the streets, seeking revenge. Max escapes into an old warehouse, but they follow him. While fleeing, he stumbles upon an old boom box, releasing Kazaam, a genie trapped for thousands of years. To remain free, Kazaam must grant Max three wishes.
