In a small Washington town, Sheriff Lyndon Harris strives to maintain harmony while dealing with a shark-like mayor who seeks to capitalize on bank foreclosures. Lyndon's personal life is also complicated, with an ex-wife pushing for divorce and two kids in need of his attention. His son Dylan is particularly vulnerable to bad influence from a charismatic individual. When a Mexican truck carrying bees and a series of aggressive bee attacks occur, Lyndon seeks the expertise of entomologist Riley Muir, who identifies the presence of Latin American killer bees. Despite the danger, the mayor prioritizes a business deal over public safety, setting the stage for a tense confrontation at the town's honey festival.
