Kismet background

Kismet

A charismatic king of beggars in Baghdad dreams of amassing great wealth, with the ultimate goal of securing a royal marriage for his daughter.

In ancient Bagdad, a beggar named Hafiz, known as the King of Beggars, pretends to be a prince, hiding his true identity while falling in love with a queen. Meanwhile, his daughter Marsinah has fallen in love with the son of the head gardener of the new Caliph, who is unaware that Marsinah's father is the man who saved his life one night. As the story unfolds, mistaken identities, hidden agendas, and a plan to marry Marsinah off to the Grand Vizier come together, leading to a climax that may be determined by fate.
