A former prisoner, Joe Harris, seeks redemption after his release. However, his wife Barbie has moved on and the only person who knows her whereabouts refuses to share the information. Frustrated, Joe brutally attacks the old man and flees to his father's home, where he finds Barbie once more. A detective becomes involved after the beating, which will eventually escalate into a murder, and Joe claims to be innocent. Despite his past conviction, Joe assures his wife and father that he has changed, but they struggle with believing him due to their lingering fears he may not reform.
