In Nicaragua, during the Sandinista government's fight against the US-backed Contra rebels, a Vietnam War veteran, Eddie Guerrero, is sent to train the Contras alongside US Special Forces. While there, he falls for a local girl named Marlena. But after her father is killed by the Contras, their relationship is put to the test.
