A wrongly accused man finds refuge with a kind-hearted newspaper editor, who grasps the intricacies of his situation, and together they unravel the mystery of the actual perpetrator.

John Campbell, in love with Mary Bradford, is wrongly accused of murdering a town philanthropist and sentenced to death. Mary's mother, Glory Holden, editor of the local newspaper, fights for Campbell's innocence and ultimately uncovers the true killer through a clever expose, triggered by the discovery of a $10,000 bequest in the victim's will.
