Two working-class friends in Atlanta, Clyde and Billy, aim to raise funds for their fraternal organization by fixing a boxing match in New Orleans. They use hypnosis to transform the underdog into a confident champion, winning big and returning to Atlanta. However, their scheme is soon discovered by the gangsters they conned, who threaten to kill them unless they rig the fight again to recoup their losses.
