A nurse finds redemption and unexpected solace among patients with mild brain damage at a halfway house, discovering a new sense of purpose and connection.

A doctor oversees a halfway house in Nova Scotia for patients with brain injuries. A Harvard-bound student, who was severely injured in a car accident, forms a strong bond with a unconventional nurse and her son. The nurse was previously fired from a city hospital for disobeying doctors, and the boy struggles with his parents' divorce. The injured student finds happiness working at his uncle's pizza parlor and becomes a local hero by accident. Meanwhile, the doctor develops feelings for the nurse, causing tension with the injured student, who also has a crush on her. The boy's father, a successful lawyer, tries to keep them apart at all costs.
