Life with Murder background

Life with Murder

The devastating consequences of a family's struggle to come to terms with their child's heinous crime, forcing them to confront the unbearable choice between disowning their son or embracing him in spite of his unforgivable actions.

In 1998, 18-year-old Jennifer Jenkins was brutally shot to death in her family home in Chatham, Ontario. Her brother Mason fled the scene and was later imprisoned after fabricating a story about the events. Their parents, grieving the loss of two children, chose to believe Mason's claims of innocence, hiding the dark truth about his intentions. The documentary slowly uncovers the complex family dynamics, using police interviews, home movies, and interviews with the family and investigators. It focuses on the pain of parental devotion as the parents struggle to hold on to their family.
