In 1937, French Surrealist lesbian sisters Claude Cahun and Marcel Moore, portrayed by Kathleen Chalfant and Marty Pottenger, flee Paris for Jersey Isle, where they join forces to create innovative, gender-defying art and literature. During World War II, they risk their lives by engaging in daring acts of Resistance as the enigmatic "The Unknown Soldier". Captured and sentenced to death, they attempt to take their own lives, only to be spared.
