Two cousins, Jason and Julian, decide to turn their three-minute film idea into a feature film, armed with $100,000 and a director. They face numerous challenges, including script rewrites, union troubles, and escalating costs. Despite the struggles, they remain enthusiastic and proud of their business acumen. However, things take a turn for the worse in post-production, with failed test screenings, re-shoots, and disgruntled investors. The film's budget spirals out of control, and the producers face financial ruin and creditors demanding payment.
