A teenage girl, Nalu, takes on the responsibility of caring for her blind father after the loss of her grandmother, who raised them together in a small house near the Brazil-Uruguay border. As Nalu grows into womanhood, an unsettling closeness develops between her and her father, Ruben. The situation becomes even more complicated when Rosario, a Uruguayan teacher, enters their lives and becomes a significant presence.
