Crime boss Nate Girard is acquitted of murder, and newspaper photographer Kent Murdock is on the case. At a party, Murdock meets a mysterious woman, Meg Archer, who is suspected of the crime. As Murdock helps her, they uncover a complex web of deceit and conspiracy involving Girard, his lawyer Redfield, and rival photographer McGoogin.
