Outcasts of the City

A German woman torn between love for an American officer and lingering feelings for a former lover, amidst the chaos of a war-torn country.

During World War II, a woman named Leda Mueller visits an American colonel to plead for entry into America, as she is the wife of a missing American pilot. When she cannot produce proof of her marriage, Pastor Skira arrives to testify that he performed the ceremony, and Leda is pregnant with the pilot's child. The colonel informs them that the pilot is alive, and Leda recalls how she met him when he was shot down over her village.
