During the late stages of the Civil War, a group of supposed Confederates, led by Alex Morel, raid gold shipments destined for Washington from Oro Grande, California. The gang is actually posing as Confederates and their headquarters are at Morel's "Golden Eagle" saloon. As Captain Steve Clark, a Union Secret Service agent, and his friend Idaho Jones investigate, they uncover the gang's true identity and connection to a group of Prussian spies.
