Rudy Duncan, a man imprisoned for six years on a grand theft auto charge, is nearing release along with his cellmate Nick. When a prison riot breaks out, Nick is killed defending Rudy. The next day, Rudy is released and recognizes Ashley, Nick's pen pal, waiting outside the prison. Rudy takes advantage of the situation and pretends to be Nick, using his knowledge of security work at an Indian casino to get involved with Ashley's brother, Gabriel, a criminal gun runner. Rudy is coerced into participating in a Christmas Eve casino robbery, but things don't go as planned, with multiple plot twists and double crosses.
