A group of con artists, led by Kirby and Evans, attempt to pull off an irrigation project scam. However, a determined newspaper editor, Scott, discovers their scheme and enlists the help of Lee to take them down. As tensions escalate, a vigilante group forms to fight against the Sheriff and his deputies, who are brought in to maintain order. Just as it seems like the two sides are on a collision course, a dying Uncle Dan sets the record straight, leading to a climactic showdown.
