In the gray, class-conscious city of Helsinki, a stoic garbage man named Nikander lives a solitary life defined by cigarettes, coffee, bingo games, and English lessons. His days are marked by few words, no smiles, and no laughter, with violence and the threat of violence lurking nearby.
