A young Englishman named Alan Howard arrives in Kenya to visit his brother's farm, only to discover his brother was brutally murdered by the Mau Mau. Alan decides to take over the farm and fight the rebels, but his hatred for the Blacks is challenged by his love for Mary, the daughter of a settler.
