A talented European pianist is unexpectedly transported to America by a wealthy widow, only to find himself entangled in a complicated love triangle with a captivating nightclub dancer who is already romantically involved with another man.

Middle-aged European pianist Paul Marvan is brought to America by a wealthy widow, Diana Fowler. He marries a nightclub dancer, Margo, who is known for her flirtatious behavior. However, Margo's antics inflame Marvan, who is already struggling financially and professionally. After Marvan's insurance claim is refused, he seeks refuge in a Salvation Army shelter, where he continues to play the piano with one hand.
