Liz Murphy, a normal teenager, is attacked and raped by her stalker Alex Miller, an orderly at the hospital. She is rescued and brought to the hospital, where she is unable to deal with the assault and tries to kill herself. Her parents, Mack and Karen, enlist the help of Dr. Juliet King, a young and ambitious psychiatrist, who uses a new therapy to cure Liz. However, as time passes, Liz's parents struggle to cope with the changes in their daughter, and Alex becomes increasingly angry that Liz will not suffer and remember him for the rest of her life. He sets his sights on Dr. King, pretending to be traumatized by the sight of Liz when she was brought into the hospital.

As a result of hypnosis, a woman's traumatic past is forgotten, but her attacker becomes consumed with the desire to make sure she never forgets the gruesome attack.
