In a poor Indian community, Sonu, his sister Sasha, and friend Akhil form a tight-knit trio, but Akhil's lack of romantic feelings for Sasha leads to a devastating misunderstanding. As the group's fortunes improve through their successful robberies, they eventually part ways, and Sasha's apparent death rocks Sonu's world. Years later, Sonu befriends Dr. Sri Vidya and her father, unaware that Sri has fallen for Akhil, who is now involved in a taxi business. When Akhil re-enters Sonu's life, they discover that Sasha didn't actually die, but was murdered.
