In a small town in New Mexico, a slacker named Bud's life is turned upside down when he fails to show up at the polling station on election day, allowing his 5th-grade daughter Molly to cast his vote. Unbeknownst to them, Bud's vote holds the key to deciding the presidential election, and the media and both candidates descend upon him, putting him in the spotlight. With the help of Molly and a local TV reporter, Bud must navigate the chaos and figure out how to make the right decision.
