Indiana Jones spends his spring break in Princeton, New Jersey, daydreaming about taking his girlfriend Nancy to the prom, whose father is renowned author Edward Stratemeyer.

In 1916, Indiana Jones, living with his dad in Princeton, New Jersey, is eager to take his girlfriend Nancy to the prom in a sleek new Bugati. However, his plans are disrupted when a mysterious break-in, the theft of an electric motor, and rumors of German spies lead to a mystery that Indy and Nancy must solve. The duo then heads to the southwest to visit family, but their adventure takes a turn when they witness Pancho Villa's attack on Columbus, New Mexico. Indy joins Villa's cause, rides with the Villistas, and meets a Belgian expatriate, a young George S. Patton, and a murderer who escaped the law in Cairo. This adventure sets Indy on a path that will lead him to war-torn Europe.
