A disillusioned priest, Arturo Carrera, leaves his church due to its lack of concern for the poor. As he flees, the Republicans launch an attack on churches and priests, putting him in grave danger. He finds refuge with a beautiful cabaret singer, Soledad, but they are eventually captured. The story centers around a powerful relic taken from his former church, which all parties believe will guarantee their victory.
