The Flaming Signal background

The Flaming Signal

A pilot and his loyal canine companion find themselves stranded on a foreboding island, subject to the whims of a malevolent owner who holds sway over the island's sole motel and the minds of its inhabitants.

A pilot and his dog, Flash, are on a flight from Los Angeles to Hawaii when they encounter a storm and crash-land in the ocean. They make it to a mysterious island, Tabu, where they find themselves caught between a missionary and a ruthless trader, Von Krantz, who exploits the native population. The situation escalates when Von Krantz attacks a native girl and kills the missionary, leading to a frenzied native uprising. Meanwhile, Flash remains quiet until he lights a signal fire on a mountain to guide a rescue ship.
